| Rabbit anti Human RPL26 antibodyrecognizes RPL26 also known as 60S ribosomal protein L26.Ribosomes, the organelles that catalyze protein synthesis, consist of a small 40S subunit and a large 60S subunit. Together these subunits are composed of 4 RNA species and approximately 80 structurally distinct proteins. RPL26 encodes a ribosomal protein that is a component of the 60S subunit. The protein belongs to the L24P family of ribosomal proteins. It is located in the cytoplasm. As is typical for genes encoding ribosomal proteins, there are multiple processed pseudogenes of RPL26 dispersed through the genome. (provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008). Mutations in the RPL26 gene have been identified as a cause of Diamond-Blackfan anemia 11 (DBA11), a congenital non-regenerative hypoplastic anemia that usually presents early in infancy (Gazdaet al.2012).Rabbit anti Human RPL26 antibody detects a band of 22 kDa. The antibody has been extensively validated for western blotting using whole cell lysates. |
