| Rabbit anti Human UBE4B antibodyrecognizes UBE4B, also known as UBOX3, UFD2A-III/UBE4B-III splice isoform, homologous to yeast UFD2, homozygously deleted in neuroblastoma-1, ubiquitin conjugation factor E4B, ubiquitin-fusion degradation protein 2 and ubiquitination factor E4B (homologous to yeast UFD2).The modification of proteins with ubiquitin is an important cellular mechanism for targeting abnormal or short-lived proteins for degradation. Ubiquitination involves at least three classes of enzymes: ubiquitin-activating enzymes, or E1s, ubiquitin-conjugating enzymes, or E2s, and ubiquitin-protein ligases, or E3s. The UBE4B gene encodes an additional conjugation factor, E4, which is involved in multi-ubiquitin chain assembly. UBE4B is also the strongest neuroblastoma tumor suppressor gene. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been found for UBE4B (provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008).Rabbit anti Human UBE4B antibody detects a band of 140 kDa. The antibody has been extensively validated for western blotting using whole cell lysates. |
