Background/Target InformationGST (Glutathione S-transferase) is a 26kDa protein, present in eukaryotes and in prokaryotes, where they catalyze a variety of reactions. Glutathione Stransferase is used to create the GST gene fusion system. This GST-fusion protein can then be purified from cells via its high affinity for glutathione. Fusion Proteins offer an important biological assay for direct protein-to-protein interactions. The GST gene fusion system has been introduced into numerous expression vectors.For Research Use Only. | GST Tag Antibody (MA4-004-HRP) in WBWestern blot analysis of GST was performed by loading various amounts of purified GST-SRC SH2 domain per well onto a 4-20% Tris-HCl polyacrylamide gel. Proteins were transferred to a PVDF membrane and blocked with 5% BSA/TBST for at least 1 hour. The membrane was probed with an HRP-conjugated GST monoclonal antibody (Product # MA4-004-HRP) at a dilution of 1:1000 for 1 hour at room temperature on a rocking platform and washed in TBS-0.1% Tween-20. Chemiluminescent detection was performed using SuperSignal West Pico (Product # 34080) and the blot was imaged using the myECL Imager (Product # 62236). |
