A 1.7 kb RNA probe corresponding to the snail gene was labeled by in vitro transcription using aminoallyl UTP (Cat. no. A21663) followed by reaction with Alexa Fluor® 488 carboxylic acid, succinimidyl ester (Cat. no. A20000, A20100). The probe was hybridized to Drosophila melanogaster embryos and imaged using confocal laser-scanning microscopy.
