产品介绍 | | |
PAI-1 (plasminogen activator inhibitor-1) is a serine protease inhibitor and member of the serpin family, which acts as the primary inhibitor of tissue plasminogen activator (tPA) and urokinase plasminogen activator (uPA), and hence fibrinolysis. Increased levels of PAI-1 are associated with diabetes, cardiovascular disease and an increased occurrence of thrombosis in obesity, and can be induced by obesity related factors including insulin, glucose and VLDL (very-low-density lipoprotein). |

Target Species | Human |
Product Form | Purified recombinant protein - lyophilized |
Preparation | Purified recombinant PAI-1 expressed inE.coli. |
Reconstitution | Reconstitute with 100 ul distilled water.Care should be taken during reconstitution as the protein may appear as a film at the bottom of the vial. Bio-Rad recommend that the vial is gently mixed after reconstitution. For extended sotrage, the addition of 0.1% BSA is recommended. |
Buffer Solution | Sodium Acetate buffered saline |
Activity | Determined by its inhibitory effect against single chain tPA induced cleavage of a chromogenic substrate in Imidazole Buffer at 37oC. Half maximal inhibition against 1.0 μg/ml of single chain tPA was obtained at a concentration of 2.0 μg/ml. |
Preservative Stabilisers | None present |
Protein Molecular Weight | 42.7 kDa (379 amino acid residues). |
