UBE3A is an 875 amino acid ~95 kDa E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase.Mutations of the UBE3A gene can lead to the development of Angelman syndrome (AS) a neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by by severe motor and intellectual retardation, hypotonia, ataxia and jerky limb movements (Sadikovicet al.2014). |
