Background/Target InformationGST (Glutathione S-transferase) is a 26kDa protein, present in eukaryotes and in prokaryotes, where they catalyze a variety of reactions. Glutathione Stransferase is used to create the GST gene fusion system. This GST-fusion protein can then be purified from cells via its high affinity for glutathione. Fusion Proteins offer an important biological assay for direct protein-to-protein interactions. The GST gene fusion system has been introduced into numerous expression vectors.For Research Use Only. GST Tag Antibody (MA4-004-A555) in WBWestern blot analysis of GST Tag was performed by loading various E. coli lysates containing equal amounts of a GST tagged protein onto a 4-20% Tris-HCl polyacrylamide gel. Proteins were transferred to a low fluorescence PVDF membrane and blocked with Sea Block blocking buffer for at least 1 hour. The membrane was probed with a AlexaFluor555-conjugated GST Tag monoclonal antibody (Product # MA4-004-A555) at a dilution of 1:500 for 1 hour at room temperature on a rocking platform and washed in TBS-0.1% Tween-20. Detection was performed using a fluorescence imaging system.
