Product Specific InformationPA5-27438 targets OCT3/4 in FACS, IF, IP, IHC (P), and WB applications and shows reactivity with Human and mouse samples.The PA5-27438 immunogen is recombinant fragment corresponding to a region within amino acids 1 and 360 of Human OCT3/4.Store product as a concentrated solution. Centrifuge briefly prior to opening the vial. For short-term storage (1-2 weeks), product can be stored at 4°C. For long-term storage, aliquot and store product at -20° C or below, avioiding multiple freeze-thaw cycles.Target InformationThis gene encodes a transcription factor containing a POU homeodomain. This transcription factor plays a role in embryonic development, especially during early embryogenesis, and it is necessary for embryonic stem cell pluripotency. A translocation of this gene with the Ewing's sarcoma gene, t(6;22)(p21;q12), has been linked to tumor formation. Alternative splicing, as well as usage of alternative translation initiation codons, results in multiple isoforms, one of which initiates at a non-AUG (CUG) start codon.
