| CJ236 is a non amber-suppressing strain that is deficient for genes (ung- dut-) required to prevent and
correct the incidence of uracil residues in DNA. The strain is therefore especially useful for generating
single-stranded M13 phagemids containing dUTP. As a result, it is the strain of choice for the Kunkel
directed mutagenesis method. |
